I'm by no means a Front-wheel drive fan. RWD and even 4WD open up an entirely new world of fun, while FWD typically brings very little to mind except torque steer and good fuel economy.
Which is why it makes no sense that I love the Nissan Altima SE-R. It's a FWD, 260hp, 250ft-lb, VQ35-powered, mid-sized psuedo-luxury sedan that only gets 20 mpg highway. But god do I want one.
Gorgeous two-tone leather seats, available with a good 'ole 6MT, sweet stock alloys, a tuned and stiffened suspension with sway bars by Nismo straight out of the factory, and (IMHO) one of the best looking factory bodykits out there. Subtle, yet very sporty, especially the exhaust setup.
No LSD here, and without the electronic traction control option ($800 when new) 0-60 comes in a modest 6.1 seconds. Not too shabby for a comfy 3400 lb. sedan. Stopping is provided through massive rotors, and cornering is descirbed as "a fierce turn-in response, and tight body control. When squirting bend to bend under less-than-woolly throttle, the SE-R's steering is delicate and precise. Scribe your corner lines as steadily as your hands can hold the wheel" by !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! And all of this can be your nowadays for around $7,000.
So tell me Oppo, what are your most irrational automotive desires?

FWD and over $40K? Irrational as fuck.

This. This right here.

But it has stickers...
![]() 02/13/2014 at 18:24 |

That is entirely rational, I don't know what you're talking about.
![]() 02/13/2014 at 18:25 |

That's one of the reasons why it's irrational.
![]() 02/13/2014 at 18:27 |

You know what? You're right! Terrible example ... my apologies.

I've been really wanting an old truck with a buick nailhead recently. If I get one, I don't know where I would put it, how to work on it, Where I'd go with it or if I could afford insurance on four vehicles. But I want one.

This, done up like a hot rod with a blown big block up front.
Edit: No idea why it's in your thread or why the HTML tags were visible.

This a 55 Chevy gasser. Wild, loud, obnoxious and what for I would probably just cruise streets scarring ricers. Something has just drawn me to want to own one.

Oh this is easy. I want the yacht that sunk in 1939.

Rear engined, RWD, and based on a car nobody wants.
Because tippy understeer.
Smallest car in production, I don't care if I'm cramped in there.

freaking Kinja and pictures. Geeze.

I love every thing with wheels and hydrocarbons, but I just don't 'get' gassers. I'm not trolling, I just don't understand the appeal.

It's nostalgia. The gasser classes for drag racing were set up so almost any car could race. The replicas you see today are more of the top tier gas classes. These evolved into A/FX cars or the altered wheel bases that morphed into funny car. The gassers just have the hard edge race car look but still a street car in a sense before funny cars became weird shaped bodies on a dragster frame

AMC Eagle Wagon
V8 Taurus SHO
Pontiac Grand Prix GTP
I'm mostly a Euro guy, and especially with the people I hang out with, these things are heresy. Oppo, you have my darkest secrets. I'll probably add more as I think of them

Ditching the wheels. FACT: Bitches love boats
Stupid fast, stupid cheap because stupid dangerous...I looove 70's paint schemes on these.
And what great body of water I'd have! You can see Watkins Glen atop that far hill!
more to the left anyway I had this pic leftover after answering a beer question. Two Goats Brewery pictured.

A friend's mom had one of these with an auto. She loved it, he hated it. Not too bad looking, as far as modern econoboxes go.

Looks fine to me. Kinja, you and your damn sorcery.
Edit: Wait, now I see it. Yup. It's broke.

FWD, 3 cylinder, no power, last seen delivering pizza, irrational as heck

Also a Euro guy, and I really like the last Grand Prix. And your secrets are safe with me. 0_o

I don't pay attention ti that era of American car, so when I saw one on the highway I didn't know what it was. Simply because I didn't know, I was interested, it's so unusual for me to not know a car :p They also come in fantastic colours
![]() 02/13/2014 at 18:59 |

One must provide at least some of their thought process after dropping so many irrational vehicles in one reply.

Probably an ideal autocross/rallycross beater too.
![]() 02/13/2014 at 19:02 |

I could list the reasons I want these cars, but they would take up half the page.
I just like 'em is all.
![]() 02/13/2014 at 19:02 |

Definitely a surprisingly cool car, especially the wheels. I don't think I've ever even seen one before, making it that much cooler.
![]() 02/13/2014 at 19:02 |

i'd prefer the second gen SHO. the thrid gen didn't have a manual trans option.
plus this thing looks awesome
![]() 02/13/2014 at 19:04 |
|
that is totally reasonable.
![]() 02/13/2014 at 19:04 |
|
Yeah the one I saw, and I've only seen the one, was black and had those gold wheels. 'twas cool

Fair
![]() 02/13/2014 at 19:06 |
|
how? besides gas mileage
![]() 02/13/2014 at 19:06 |
|
That's why the 3rd gen is on the most irrational list, I prefer the 2nd gen as well, but for some reason I still want a transverse 3.4l V8....the automatic makes it even dumber, which somehow makes me want it more

little light weight car with a manual treans. trust me under powered shit box cars are more fun than you'd ever think.

Toyota Blade Master G.
Because ridiculous name, and because it's a Corolla with a 266hp 3.5L V6
![]() 02/13/2014 at 19:15 |

Hmm, very similar to the Altima up top, but even more powerful and more of a sleeper with a better name. Such win.

Saw this yesterday. Ridiculous.
![]() 02/13/2014 at 19:23 |

I don't even think it's irrational. My only obstacle is that I'd never get one imported legally.
![]() 02/13/2014 at 20:15 |
|
Definitely something wrong with me that I'm calling this irrational. By many measures, this is the most rational want I have, but I have to keep in mind the context. At Oppo , this is my most irrational want.
![]() 02/13/2014 at 20:22 |
|
I'll buy that. Thanks.
![]() 02/13/2014 at 20:27 |

Rational indeed. I'm even more tempted by the Honda Fit Sport, which HKS made a turbo kit for...
![]() 02/13/2014 at 20:40 |
|
I'm probably going to import a Delta Integrale at some point. Which is completely insane, because it's going to be such a bastard to maintain. But at least that's justifiable. What isn't justifiable is that I would rock the ever-loving shit out of a Prowler.

This one goes beyond irrational to ridiculous. So many wants...
Or maybe something just a tiny bit less crazy, the ORC Reisemobil G-CampPro:
Also, this, for obvious reasons:
Should I go on?
![]() 02/13/2014 at 21:17 |

This. Because I'll probably never see a real one with my own eyes. I have however seen a clone.

'94-'96 (P)imp SS
Too big, Too thirsty, underpowered, and has a slushy 4speed tragicomatic.
But if someone got me one, I would love them forever for it!
![]() 02/13/2014 at 23:03 |
|
I can't stop youtube videos about it... there's one for sale 20 miles from me. I would need like a 6 year loan. DONT DO IT. Seriously though, if dogs were cars, this would be a little pitbull/stafford terrior. I love the styling
![]() 02/13/2014 at 23:10 |
|
Back seats? Who the fuck needs a back seat when you have all this AWESOME on your car?
![]() 02/13/2014 at 23:15 |
|
Well my thing is, its the only 3 door hatch offered in America right now. GTI is coming soon, but what about everything else? Seriously, I was considering getting a Fiesta ST and taking out the rear seats, but I didn't want to explain to EVERYONE that my back doors are pointless. If this was priced at $28k like it should be, I think I'd be seriously considering it by default, leaving its glorious looks out of it. But I digress...
![]() 02/13/2014 at 23:19 |
|
I really want to buy an Opel Kadett B and give it the Irmscher treatment. Irrational? Of course.
![]() 02/14/2014 at 00:13 |

Cannot get past the body kit on these and the corolla s. Everytime I see one I laugh audibly.
![]() 02/14/2014 at 00:22 |
|
Seriously tempted to, at the very least, go look at this...
Irrational because I already have a rear-engine, rear-wheel drive car, it's an autotragic, I can't weld or fix rust, I'd rather be driving than wrenching, it's unsafe at ANY speed (including parked), but it's cheap and gorgeous!
![]() 02/14/2014 at 10:38 |
|
I agree, this is way overpriced thanks to it's limited production. If they were to make more, they'd price it lower so people like me and you can buy one, which would be awesome.

Oldsmobile Toronado. Big american car with big block goodness in fwd. Something so wrong about this.
